Service Description
Monday-Friday 10am-3:30pm Ages: rising 2nd grade-rising 5th grade Teacher- student ratio: 8:1 $375 All materials included (students will need to bring a lunch, water bottle, appropriate clothing for the weather, extra sweatshirt, and clothes they can get dirty-we have aprons too) Kids will have the opportunity to experiment and explore their creativity in a variety of materials and approaches to art-making both inside our barn studio and outside on our 17-acre property while having fun and meeting new friends. Each project is designed to inspire students to immerse themselves in creative play and experimentation while exploring materials and processes they may not typically have access to. We teach each student at their level and if they decide to take a second week of camp they will progress to more advanced projects, push their ideas further and develop their skills. Projects and materials we will be exploring: (may change due to campers' interests and experience) Collaborative Drawing and Painting Clay: We will be making imaginary clay creatures and colorful glazed shapes assembled into a 20" totem secured to a base, a glazed clay bowl and/or platter with original stamps made by the campers. Nature walk: students will be able to gather natural textures from our property if they need them for textures and printing. Fused and Slumped Glass: We will be making glass and wire animals and insects, a wire and glass sculpture. Additional student choice projects: a glass bowl, a sun catcher or glass and wire flowers for the window or garden. Silkscreen Printmaking: We will be creating original drawings to be printed on t-shirts and/or other clothing the campers bring from home and want to print on. Optional: Small-scale metal Casting: Each student will create a small casting for jewelry/pendants or key-chain Optional and if we have time: Card board structure/fort which we will paint. Friday Exhibition and Party: All campers will work together to set up an exhibition showcasing their art from the week to share with friends and family.
